$500,000 Grant Awarded to Columbus Marriage Initiative

The Columbus Marriage Coalition, led by Dr. Stephen Judah, now has the resources they need to pursue the next phase of their community mobilization plan for strengthening marriages. Thanks to a nearly $500,000 grant from the Ohio Strengthening Families Initiative, Columbus can focus on moving forward. Their next steps include setting up an office with two full-time staff members, pulling together a community marriage signing in July coupled with pre-marital training, and exploring options for a marriage mentoring center.  Steve is committed to bringing systematic, long-term mentor training to Columbus to meet the region’s high demand for relational help. His ideas for the marriage mentoring center include targeting TANF-eligible couples who  otherwise might not have access to such resources.

The Community Marriage Signing in July will hopefully involve 100 to 150 pastors. The plan is to have the signing on Friday night and then have pre-marital training courses the  next day.

Steve also has a new book coming out called Staying Together When an Affair Pulls You Apart. The book speaks to the primary causes of infidelity as well as practical steps couples can take to mend their relationship.

We are celebrating with Columbus on this wonderful news and rejoicing for all the marriages that will be positively impacted!
