Eric and Jennifer Garcia are the co-founders of the Association of Marriage and Family Ministries (AMFM). AMFM is committed to encourage, resource, train and equip the local church and other support organizations in the vital area of marriage and family ministry.
The vision for AMFM was birthed based on needs Eric and Jennifer found in their own church and on their belief that the church must be healed relationally before it can effectively impact the culture.
Together they serve as lay leaders on the marriage ministry team at their home church, Scottsdale Bible Church, in Scottsdale, Arizona. They launched the Couple-to-Couple Mentoring Ministry, currently lead this ministry team, and are training other churches how to organize and launch a successful couples mentoring ministry.
Prior to launching AMFM, Eric spent the past eighteen years as a business owner, board member, business and ministry consultant, and executive. His real passion is engaging relationships with individuals and couples, encouraging them in their walk with the Lord or challenging them to a new life in Christ. Proverbs 3:5-6 stays at the forefront of Eric's mind as a promise of God he depends on.
Jennifer has been an elementary school teacher, involved in the choir and worship teams, and a very active mother of four. She is now working with Eric doing research, connecting with ministries, and most recently traveling and speaking on Marriage and Family Ministry with Eric. Jennifer's life verse has not changed in over twenty years; Isaiah 26:3 encourages her more these days than ever before.
Eric and Jennifer both grew up in Indianapolis and have known each other since elementary school. Although they grew up attending the same schools and church, their paths never crossed until after both had finished college and were well into their careers.
They have been married fourteen years and have four children. Their oldest, Hudson is thirteen, Erika is eleven and their twin boys, Elliot and Wesley are nine. Their family enjoys spending time in Alaska, attending youth basketball and soccer games (even coaching some of them), and involvement in their home church.
Eric and Jennifer feel there is a great need for churches to get healthy so that they can reach out to a hurting culture that is longing for authentic relationships; serving the local church and serving those God has called them to.
